Duties And Responsibilities:
Working as a member of the Computer Operations Group, this position serves as a peer member to the Senior Storage Administrator and shares responsibility for the ensuring 24 x 7 x 365 availabitily of the centrally managed Storage Infrastructure. Responsibilities of this position include the administration and monitoring of the current installed EMC SAN-NAS and Central Backup Infrastructure. This role will additionally be responsible for possessing and maintaining knowledge in the areas of storage related software and hardware currently deployed and for performing future hardware and software upgrades. Additionally the Storage Administrator position must possess storage configuration knowledge for SAN and NAS applications (Exchange and SQL) in the areas disk RAID configuration, performance and disaster recovery strategies, policies and procedures that ensure the protection and integrity of HMS stored data assets. Working with the Senior Storage Administrator this position will be required to work with other IT group team members to deploy storage solutions which meet business objectives of the school, adhere to the HMS service level agreements and provide off-hour support to address hardware and software upgrades, or performance issues. Analyze daily the storage and backup infrastructure and collect information for the generation of storage reports to both the user population and management. Monitor and troubleshoot SAN and NAS storage and backup hardware and software. This position will also serve as peer for the Senior Storage Administrator position with both positions having primary and backup responsibilities that coincide with delivering a highly available storage infrastructure.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
Basic qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, MCSE and/or master's prefered. Seven plus years of IT experience. Additional requirements: SAN administration with 3 to 5 years experience managing and troubleshooting EMC Clariion storage arrays, CX600, Fiber Channel Switches and working in a mixed NFS and CIFS Environment. Experience with EMC Celerra, Centera, and CX disk arrays. Also expeirnce with PowerPath, Navisphere and associated array tools including MirrorView, SnapView, SAN Copy; Brocade Silkworm 12000 switch configuration,management, and Fabric Manager; Storagetek L700e Tape Library; Netbackup Software; CIFS, NFS. and AFP filesystems; and Anti-Virus software and deployment.
